title : 我的朋友, 我的同学, 我爱过的一切
sudden thought:
sometimes one may expect quite a lot from their friends.
but others may not comprehend, as they may think that being friends, you would know their patterns and their usual habits, and hence understand and tolerate their styles.
something that should not be neglected would be not taking each other for granted.
and not taking each other's compromise as a "should" on their part.
went out in the morning with kxy and monster for a bowling session! it was really funny, that we all bowl SO differently to get our strikes hahaha so throughout the 2years in bowling club, all monster learn about is the bowling with your fingers in the 4-5 o'clock direction. didnt work for kxy as the throws that made her at least hit 1 pin is having the bowling balls thrown in the 1-2 o'clock direction hahahahha i conclude that i'm a leisure bowler hahaha! no specific style, even the ending pose is just squatting down LOL went to NUS to meet xiaowen and kristy for lunch! it's like, we always only meet up during the sem, and during the hols, it's just, on our own.. haha.. gonna leave them in school for the sem while we and michelle are off the SEP :) seeya next year! played badminton in the afternoon, and as usual, i'm a leisure player hahaha! i play for the sake of having fun, no pro skills.. our ultimate aim is just to hit the shuttle cock :D and we admit that it's the first time after 2years in NUS that we are utilising the sports facilities in school hahaha! we paid for it but never used it before. it took us awhile to find the badminton courts in utown hahaha i wonder when's the next time we're gonna use it :p it was quite fun a game :) with a good laughter. mainly mine heh heh
went to watch a xinyao movie at night with my family!
我的朋友, 我的同学, 我爱过的一切 That Girl In Pinafore.
there was this realisation by the main character that struck me hard. i'm not exactly sure of the exact wordings, but it went really similarly:
朋友来来往往,几年后,大家各走各路,也少联络了,或许大家都忙了,或许大家都忘了… 可能这就是成长的代价吧.
starting to take a different view towards friendships.
for the better or worse, i dont know :)
till i clear that out haha
i personally thought that the movie was not bad!
i like it that the movie is filled with xinyaos, the reminisce feeling, the fun school times you have with your friends. because some of those are just things that we will never experience the same way now.
and some of the songs are really cute and catchy!
and i'll never forget ongchungee, the BP teacher, who introduced to me the lovely song named 邂逅 ^^
just because we didnt know how to pronounce these words during his lesson and he was so shocked lol.
it's so old school, that some of the scenes are so funnily oldschool style, and despite its occasional cute tweaks, some would just make you roll your eyes and laugh hahaha
do expect some vulgarities here and there that are really all censored away for the PG ratings.
and i have no idea about the link between the chinese tile and the english title.
that girl in pinafore only appeared at the beginning of the movie. lol.
and so that is why i'm glad to know chinese, for the title bears greater meaning and connection :)
maybe because, im just lousier in my command of english HAHA
but i thought it was because i come from a mandarin-speaking family, and hold that strong background with the language. and it may be because of the exposure to chinese drama since young, and the following through with chinese society. i enjoy the language a lot. it might have been really annoying at times, academically. but when it all comes to using them, understanding them through songs and stories, i connect more closely via chinese than english. although i dont speak as well now for chinese, and that english is becoming my preferred medium for communication and expression. i still enjoy the fact that i have friends whom i dont feel weird speaking mandarin with, and they dont go (??) when i mix languages :) and now that i'm teaching at berries, i feel even more that i should let the kids learn the language in a fun way, and let them love the language first, despite having little exposure to it in their surroundings. like what the movie actually said, it's quite a shame that we as Chinese cant speak our own language well. so what if we're Singaporeans, and advocating bilingual languages when we're simply not placing much efforts in the language, and the policies are making the learning of the language easier to relief the complains by parents who are simply taking Chinese as an examinable subject.
it's the same as the banning of broadcasting dialects in Singapore radio stations. it's a pity that we're losing this additional spice to our lives. i enjoy speaking hokkien to my grandmother, and always wished to learn cantonese! ha but ohwell, with dramas even dubbed in mandarin or english.. we simply dont have the environment.. perhaps that may be why it's harder for grandparents to speak to their grandchildren, not even mentioning about our obsession with technology, but just blaming on the language barrier.. yayy that i can catch the xinyao song on radio, now that the ban on that song has been lifted ^^ and many radio stations are just using this to make the song being played on the channels more often LOL as a way to display the reactance effect :D
thats it for tonight :) looking forward to the faster internet connection tomorrow, when the singtel guy comes to install the new modem WOOHOO!
if not my posts will always be stuck as drafts like the one on national day :/
